What is the difference between a white and red reaction integumentary system?

Answered by wiki @

When you try to drag lightly an eraser to your forearm, you will notice that there is a white streak formed on the area where you dragged the eraser. This is the white reaction; often caused by blood displacement from small capillaries on skin surface as a natural response to the mechanical stimuli. Conversely, when you try to drag firmly an eraser to your other arm, you will notice that there is a red streak and surrounded with white streak. This is the red reaction; often caused by histamine release as a natural response of your immune system. At the area where you dragged the eraser, redness and skin swelling occurs due to the opening of blood vessels and leaks unto the tissues within the vessel itself.
